Here’s What Happened When A Pilot Ejects AtSupersonic Speed

  • Have you ever wondered What will happen to a Jet pilot who ejects while traveling faster than the speed of sound?
  • On April 18, 1989,Captain Brian Udellboarded his F-15 Fighter jet. Over time, Speeds and distance were picking up fast.
  • To give you an idea, imagine being in a car going 90 km per hour on the highway. Now, imagine how your hand deals with being placed out the window. It would be pushed back, right?
  • Now, how do you think that would differ at 900km per hour? For Captain Udell, he didn’t have to imagine!Captain Udell realized that the wind beneath his plane was getting more and more powerful.
  • In no time, he realizes he was traveling faster than the speed of sound! When that happened, he officially broke the sound barrier, leaving behind a trail of white sound waves. The Jet was losing control, and Captain Udell finally decided to press the eject button!
  • Captain Udell said that ejecting at that speed felt like being hit by a train. The force was so intense that it ripped his helmet right off his head.
  • As a result, all the blood vessels in his head and face were swollen, and his head became the size of a basketball. On top of his head expanding, his lips became the “size of cucumbers.” His left elbow was dislocated and pointed backward.
  • He left the disaster with a cut-up face from metal shards in his helmet, chipped teeth, burst blood vessels in his face, a swollen head, and lips, black eyes, dislocated elbows, a torn pectoral muscle, broken ribs, a broken left leg, and ankle, a dislocated right knee, and his right leg gashed open. “Other than that, I was fine,” Udell said.
  • The last thing any Jet pilot wants is to press the eject button!

Bill Gates wants to cool down Earth using Chalk Powder!

  • Bill Gates wants to cover the Earth with chalk powder to divert Sunlight back into Space eventually cooling down the Earth!
  • The Test will begin this summer.A large balloon will soon be launched in Sweden that will release out particles of calcium carbonate (which we call chalk powder).
  • Bill Gates wants to prove that the release of this dust into the stratosphere could eventually divert some of the sun’s energy and lower the temperatures of our planet.
  • This would be the first serious attempt to test whether global warming can be kept under control by Humans!
  • The research is carried out by scientists at Harvard University and financed by Bill gates, aiming to dim sunlight.
  • Some scientists are opposing this as according to them this would cause serious damage to the ecosystem and alter extreme weather conditions.
  • Do you think, we should try this idea to cool down Earth?

ProtagorasParadox

  • This Paradox is originated in Greece. This case was not solved! The most interesting part – this is still debated (even today) in law schools as a logic problem!
  • A famous teacherProtagorascame across a student called Euathlusto tutor him on the law.
  • Euathlus was not having enough money, therefore they came upon an agreement that the student pays Protagoras for his tutoring fees soon after he wins his first court case.
  • However, after the law course, Euathlus had a change of mind and decided to not enter the profession of law.Fed up with this, the teacher Protagoras decided to sue the student in Court!
  • Firstly, Protagoras said to the judge that, “If I win this case, as per the court of law, the student has to pay me as the case is about his non-payment of dues.”
  • “And if I lose the case, the student will still pay me because he would have won his first case as per the original contract. So either way, I will get the money”.
  • However, Euathlus had a different claim, “If I win the case, as per the court of law, I don’t have to pay anything to the teacher as the case is about my non-payment of dues.”
  • “And if I lose the case, I don’t have to pay him because I haven’t won my first case yet. So either way, I am not going to pay the teacher anything”.
  • This is one of the greatest paradoxes ever recorded.Who is right and who is the winner?
