After months of leaks, Pixal 3 event finally confirmed everything in the New York city. Google unveiled its latest flagship Android smartphone with a few new devices. These devices include the Pixel Slate as well as Google Home Hub. This event was totally different from its earlier events. For the first hour, the company announced its new lineup. Later, it made these products available immediately for preorder even before the completion of event. Here’s everything announced in the event.


The Pixel 3 is exactly as per the leaks. There were strong expectations for the launch Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. And, the company announced it in the event. The Pixel 3 is a 5.5-inch smartphone, and the Pixel 3 XL is pretty long with 6.3-inch size. Something different in the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL is dual front-facing cameras for wide angle selfies. But, there’s a single camera in the rear.

Google is bragging about the camera features, which include Night Sight low light mode, high-resolution zoom, and a Photobooth mode for snapping photos of people automatically. All these new camera features are branded under an Apple-esque “Pixel Visual Core” chip.

The company didn’t mention about Android Pie features on the Pixel. But, there’s a new mode which allows you to turn the phone up side down to silence notifications.

As per the leaks, the company also announced a wireless charging Pixel Stand that also supports the phone as a Google Assistant. It’s retail price is $79.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be initially available for $799 and $899 respectively for a 64GB variant. Also, they will have a new “not pink” color. The company offers six months of YouTube Music on both the devices. Preorders for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL started on 9th October, and will ship on 18th October.


The first tablet by Google to have Chrome OS is the Pixel Slate. It features a 12.3-inch display with 8MP front and rear cameras. On the front, there are dual speakers. It misses a headphone jack, and has fingerprint scanner at the top for faster unlock. There’s a built-in Titan Security chip in the device.google pixel slate

It has a special Bluetooth Pixel Slate Keyboard with circular keys and backlighting. But, this keyboard doesn’t come with the tablet. It will be sold separately at a retail price of $199. Also, there’s a stylus, which will be made available for $99.

Initially, it will be available in the navy blue color at the price of $599. The company offers three months of YouTube TV with this device. Google didn’t mention the date of shipment for the Pixel Slate as it is waiting for the approval by the FCC.


A smart display which looks like a picture frame integrates with Google Photos, and provides a visual version of your Google Assistant with a video feed for watching YouTube. The smart display integrates with smart home gadgets to schedule and control them according to your daily routines. Home Hub will feature Voice Math to serve to different people in your family. The integration of YouTube makes it different from the Echo Show. Google and Amazon still seem to have battle over the retail giant ignoring Google’s products in its site.google home hub

Home Hub display will show relevant information like time, calendar appointments, weather, etc. when not in use. You can also set quiet hour for the device to avoid notifications during certain time.

Preorders for the Home Hub started at October 9th and will ship on October 22nd. It is priced at $149, and will arrive first to the UK, Australia, and the US. The company will offer six months of YouTube premium on the device.


Some other accessories were not announced on the stage by the company. But, the company announced their launch off-stage. New Chromecast is now available for purchase. Also, new USB-C earbuds are available at $30. The same earbuds will come along with the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. But, other Pixel users can buy them at $30.


Duplex will be rolling out in November, and will first arrive on the Pixel. It is the company’s AI voice calling system, which was unveiled at the I/O developer conference of the company. After many testings, its arrival date is finalized in the month of November. Duplex will arrive exclusively on Pixel, and will allow users to request Assistant to call and make appointments or reservations at hair salons. There will be a new spam call-screening feature in the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, which will screen suspicious calls and provide a message to help you determine whether to respond or block the call. Other Pixel users will receive this feature by the end of this year.
